Mumbai ki Baarish - Mumbai's Monsoon.

I love rain. I always have. The atmosphere, the climate, the vibe.. everything!

Back in my childhood, the thunderstorms used to scare the shit out of me.

I used to wrap myself in those comfy, soft, warm blankets and used to embrace my parents with all the fear and innocence in me untill I cried myself to sleep.

Those times back then make me refresh and re-memorize my bachpan every year, infact every monsoon.

The month of June always reminds me of the vacation endings and the schools and offices getting back in action.

Kids/People all over Mumbai start their academic as well as yearly tasks with absolute new energy, spark and with whatever protective gear they have to help themselves survive the rain and still be happy.

Me, when coming back from school with my new Dora raincoat on and Barbie umbrella in my tiny hands ALWAYS used to drag my feet into the muddy water-filled puddles and jump and sing and dance to all the poems, especially the monsoon rhymes which were taught to me by my class teacher.

My mom used to give me an okay-thats-enough-germs-for-today look with a slight smile and I always used to deny to come back home, cause who would want to leave that cute little puddle, sad & lonely? Haha.

So you see, I have been enjoying my happy rain dance and my cute little puddle's company since years, and honestly the kid in me is always up to give it a shot every time it rains !!

Moving on, have you ever tried Mumbai's tapri waali chai with pakodas?
If you haven't, then you are missing out on all the fun my friend.

Heavy rains, a glass filled with masala chai (tea) and those steamy hot pakodas(crispies) can make your day a thousand times better and I could definitely assure.

Whether you are at home or out in the rain, this delightful food combination will always have you crave Mumbai ki Baarish every time of the year.
Auto-rides jammed with traffic and rains can also be a fun experience.

You can always just sneak-out and roam in a rickshaw with your bestfriend on a week day just to get familiar and enjoy Mumbai's traffic, though it is not a very good idea but the rains can be a blessing by their windy breeze and saturating your clothes with showers. *wink*
So yeah that's pretty much every single thing which every Mumbaikar loves about Mumbai.
If you ask me, my personal favourite would be getting cozy in a blanket, with my earphones on, sipping up on a large mug of chai and of course, a favourite novel.

Perfect for a day-out with yourself.

HAPPY MONSOON AND MY LOVE TO YOU ALL.

- Mumbai ki Parita. :')
